Nice idea.

I'm not quite convinced by the cropping (the space between the head and the left hand side seems unbalanced with the space between the feet and the bottom) but it is otherwise an effective shot.

The other thing that might be worth trying is getting the line of the arms to point to the bottom left corner, enhancing the wide-angle effect.

A very quick edit. I've rotated it, cropped to a square format (and cloned in the background to fill a gap in the top) and made minor adjustments to contrast and colours.
