I think this is a fantastic photograph.

The clouds are nicely pronounced, the road sweeps nicely and the low-level perspective makes the road have a good impact on the shot.

Perhaps something at the end of the road would be nice, but really the sweep in the road makes for a nice enough composition. I'd also be interested in a full-colour version as this is tranquil enough but I think it might look a little nice with a nice blue sky and warm black tarmac.

Good work though

Thank you. I tried experimenting with different colors & whatnot. I tried really vibrant colors, black & white, blue-ish duotone, but I think I liked this one best. I have another one that I took in the same area.

I really LOVE the first shot, and if anything I might like to see that one in color, also. I really love the low perspective. Sorry, but the shoe is distracting to me in the second one, but the colors are nice and serene.

Thanks for posting - may I ask where, geographically, the shots were taken? Beautiful.

i like it very much. i once read that these shots are called ( the broken down shot ). because its from the side of the road ,and it looks like your car has broken down.

andypyle,

Even if it was unintentional, including the peel-out treadmark adds yet more interest. Just curious what brought the choice of tint color?

I'm not sure actually. I think I just liked the way the clouds looked with the tint over it. It was taken off of Highway 166, not too far out from where I live (Nipomo, CA.) Thanks for the comments everyone.

I think I like the color shot better. I'm not sure if it's because of the color or the leg, but I find it more interesting. I don't think that the leg distracts but rather just changes the shot from a pretty scene to a shot of interest. If you showed someone 100 similar photographs this is one that they would remember. Great job!
