Default First post a portrait.

Hello everyone. I was reffered to this site by a fellow and talented photographer whom I met yesterday at a Blacks store. I'm going to be starting a 3 year photography program in the fall, and would love to get some professional critique to help me put together a portfolio. So, today I'll start of with some portraits I've taken recently with a point and shoot.....I miss the dslr, I do. Soon, soon.

Hi Mathieu,
Thanks to a post by wulf I went back to see if there were any photos that had not yet been critiqued. I hope you are still with us and did not get discouraged. I can't say that I am fond of all four of the images you posted but I think you have the eye for catching the character of a person in this style. Not bad work for a point-and-shoot camera. I like your use of black and white for the shots as well. I would encourage you to post more of your work but perhaps limit each post to one image as I find it easier and more helpful to address a single image than a group. Having said all that I am happy to help where I can. Best wishes for a successful course of study this fall.
