Default Schools Concert Pictures

A while ago, I asked you guys/girls for some helpfull tips, regarding the 'concert' I was going to shoot.

I must say, It was pretty hard, Since I couldn't flash.
I used: Iso 400 (max) looks crap.
And no flash..
ALso.. I did not want to stand in front of the concert all the time, so i took a lot of pictures on my knees.. which I should't have i think.

Anyways, here're a view:

These are the ones I liked best, these are cropped a bit, B&W-end, Contrasted, and resized for imagesshack.

Here's the rest, on my schools website:

So, what do you think? Did I do a good job? Or did I Screw up?
C&c are most welcome, I realy want some things to do better next time!

You know, these actually turned out pretty good I mean, considering you couldn't use a flash and the ISO 400 is really grainy, I think everything else turned out well. Perhaps with some noise removal software (e.g. Noise Ninja) these could be improved. Still, I think you did well with the composition and the B&W looks good as well. Not sure that I've got any tips for next time, since the only problem I see is the noise. Good job for a first time out. Oh yeah, I think pics 2 or 4 are my favs.

Floris,

Hurray for bringing back your work to show! They are good, 3 and 6 especially. A little lightening and contrast with any edit program would bring you very good results. Hope the school appreciates your efforts!

Now that it's past, would it help to go back into the same area with a friend as model, holding a microphone, and try setting different speeds (if you haven't already)? Try to get shots when the microphone is near face but not in front.

There is more to your photos to be brought out in post-processing. A little artifacting shows up, but as Nicole says a noise reduction program will help too. If you can do layering, the contrast can be evened some so more detail in shadows appears:
