Talking Buddha

Ancient temple

ANCIENT BUDDHAs, they were burned in a war between Thailand and Burma more than 200 years ago.

cool shot! The high contrast adds interest to the shot, but it's almost too much. You might use curves in PS to bring the contrast down some, and maybe even add some color to the sky or darken it.

very interesting shot.

I agree that this is an interesting shot. However, first off, I think the stupa isn't straight up and down. That is a problem that could easily have been corrected by holding the camera straight.

Beyond that, the exposure isn't particularly good in that if you were to look at the histogram, I think you'd find it is blown out on both ends.

There is more I don't like about this than what I do like, that being the stated theme; I'm not gonna dis the Buddha

Actually he did darken the sky and is the main issue I have with the photo. As soon as I saw it I noticed the 'halo' around the stupa from the darkening you did of the sky but didn't get close enough to the edge of the stupa. You can also see the color difference between the tree branches.. you have to be careful when darkening skies to darken all visible bits of it else the rest stand out (at least to me ) When there are 'halos' it's commonly seen as a sign of bad post processing work.

Otherwise, it's a pretty standard, "been there, seen this" sort of photo though I like what you did with the colors.
