Default Sun Set over ICW

We were stuck on a draw bridge, and I shot this out the car window.

WooD,

It's a pleasant sunset, and is taken as well as any sunset can be. What else can be said. If it had shone on the side of someone's face, or had been framed by part of the drawbridge, or at least was not so centered, it would make a more interesting shot.

Thank You. Your by far not the first person to say I need to stop centering my subjects. This was one of those shots that just happened. We were stuck on the bridge, and I just happened to have my camera with me. I just had enough time to get it out, fire it up, and shoot 2 frames before the traffic started moving.

There are some nice elements to this shot: the reflection on the water, the texture of the water, the cloud formation. There are some basics you can keep in mind when an opportunity like this happens again, not the least of which is the rule of thirds. Following this will keep you from centering the sun and placing the horizon line right across the middle.
