Default Classic Phone in Classic Phonebox

Hi,

I've only just recently got confident enough in my photos to welcome critique (silly really but I felt I wasn't really 'into' photography enough to have my images critiqued by peers). Anyhoo any feedback on where I can improve, what you might have tried instead is welcome - I see a lot of nice things and probably from 300 photographs on a day walking I have 4 or 5 'keepers'.

Anyhoo here goes:

ny156uk,

I love old movies; that's where this takes me. Wonderful Asian palette with an extra portion of red. Partial booth is necessary, I guess to get close to phone? It's a keeper; don't know if it would win a prize, but it doesn't have to. It's a good shot.

I like the idea of framing the shot with the red bars, but I'm not so convinced with the overall composition. The phone just looks too centered for me.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I forgot to take a few shots 'off-centre' so can't upload a comparison (I agree I tend to prefer shots off centre myself).

Carl...This was taking on Sunday 25th at Pickering station, so pretty close. I did notice over people pottering around and taking photographs though.

Incidently i've always thought it would be really cool if one day I came across a photo online from a complete stranger and there I am in frame. As yet this hasn't happened - kinda a reversal of yours (which is seeing someone take a photo that you later see).

Default Interesting framing

I like frames within the frame. I think your composition was interesting. I too would have had the phone a bit off center. The color is really nice as well.
