Default My very first "official" shoot!

I was asking earlier this week about tips on portraits and composition, I read all your input and took it into account, thanks guys, that really helped!

Took over 300 pictures, and have about 50 favorite ones, here are some...

This is my favorite one from the whole shoot:

Am I the only one who sees a resemblance with Julia Roberts here?

mikeboy, I think this is a great job. Especially considering this was your first "official" shoot. Looks like you had a really good model too, which must have made things easier for you. Really well done! I think that I like the last one the best, though the ones of her tossing her hair around are *really* well captured as well. Once again, good job!

mikeboy,

Of all the model-based shoots I've seen, this is one.

I like the "Don't I Look Good" on link, despite the crop. Nearly every one of these seems oddly framed, even the table setting. Composition is critical.

I like the interesting angles on some of the shots and those with more natural looking poses (1st and 4th of your 1st selection). Well done on your 1st 'Shoot'.

Thumbs up

Nicole: thank you for your input, the model was great to work with, we connected very well and I think that shows in the pictures! I realized that it is not just the guy behind the camera that makes the shot.

jiminyClickit: Heh, the "Dont I look Good?" was a candid photo of a little girl in a bazar in Jerusalem when I was there last year, not from this hoot. Im glad you like it. About the crops, I am training my eye and my speed to make the composition as if it where already cropped, so, I usually dont use photoshop after I take the pics. Unless I want some nice effect like the dreamy feel and such.

purplepixie: I couldnt agree with you more, she looked so much better when she was not posing, we would tell her jokes and just talk to her about other things to take her mind off the camera, that really worked well.

Thanks for you input, I really appreciate the nice comments you all made!
