Default Old Mill

All,
This is my first post on DPS. I just ran across the site yesterday. So far I'm really impressed with the site.
What do you think of the attached photo of an Old Mill? I'd appreciate some of your critiques. Thanks!

Scolamiero, Welcome

Wonderful place to try techniques and come away with good images. Wonder if you had difficulty choosing angle, distance? I see part of bench on left, part of ramp on right, part of trees in back. Can't say backing up would have gotten a better view; this is pretty good.

Does the wheel still turn?

Thanks for the welcome. The toughest part about this shot was how far to zoom in/out. I tried to zoom in close enough to maintain the detail of the mill, without being to close. I also tried to make a point to leave the big tree at about the 1/3 line (rule of thirds) even though it wasn't an actual part of the subject.

I'm no professional. I just do this as a hobby. And I'm always trying to learn more/improve. That's why I'm open for suggestions. Thanks Jiminy.

Ps. I almost forgot, yes the wheel still turns and the mill is still completely functional, producing flour. That was another obstacle, trying to get it at the right time while dozens of people walked in and out of the mill.

Scolamiero,

A working mill would keep me busy for most of a day, inside and out. Hope you get to visit again and fill a memory card, macro to wide angle.
