Default Used Car

I like the subject I have here, however I just was not happy with the outcome. Any suggestions? I had to use P S - shadowhighlight to lighten the background.

You're right this is a great subject. From what I see, I think the problem is too much subject; there is a lot to look at here. My eye keeps jumping around. Perhaps zero in on fewer elements.

marc_714,

Have you tried b/w and solarizing? It unifies a little and turns the detail into texture. Or break it up into a montage, different sizes, scale, color & b/w.
Lots of possibilities. As Saralonde notes, an abundance.

I like everything, except the car seat. The garbage is difficult to compose, and I love the subject too. Here, the car trunk gives the depth to the picture. Those vertical black and red (whatever they are ) give it a nice rithm. There are lots of details here and the tyre in the lower right corner helps the eye to settle down. The car seat is actually competing with the tyre as an anchor element in this chaotic picture, and only because it's big, not interesting. So, if you ask me, the car seat goes out (if you have an opportunity to take the shot again) That wall in the background is a great detail.
