SugarMama,
Does your monitor say "cool?" A little warmth in the skin tone would add life to this good photo. Turning the head just a little to get some light on both eyes brings more individuality, and interest. Just enough turn without bringing on 'squint.' Try full headshot, too. I like the crop here, face is strong. Experiment as much as possible.

What an adorable subject! What time of day did you take this? It looks as if it was fairly bright outside, which may have put a little too much light on one side of his face. Nice DOF for the blurry background and closeup composition. With such a cute model available to you, I'm sure you can try lots of things to practice.

My monitor is a wreck...LOL I edited this picture a few weeks ago and then when i emailed it to a couple of other people and saw it on their monitors, I realized mine is probably way off. Which means I am over/under editing in photoshop **SIGH**
We've tried calibrating the screen but I think I'm just going to have to buy a new one.

I think just the brightness needs to be downed a bit but other than than I really like how the light divides his face in half and how the blue in his jacket brings out his eyes.

all the technical stuff aside the timing of the shot makes it great, getting that look that gives emotional strength to a photo is the real art. A face i am sure we are going to see alot more off
