Default Cemetery Tree

This is taken in an old cemetery in Pittsburgh. There are hundreds of nice subjects to choose there. This shot is highly photoshopped and has a lot of channel mixing based on the red channel only. Also I used layers and the Orton effect in a light manner. That is why there is a little blow out. I did that for a dreamy effect.

I really really like it - I love the extreme highlights particularly in the tree, the branches are so much more defined rather than being a muddled bunch of branches. Very dreamy - good use of the techniques!

marc_714,

That you were shooting up a hill adds much to the drama. Shot and post make a showpiece demonstrating good photography and edit.

Marc,

Love the black and white. Cemetaries are a great place for photos like this one. BTW, what is the Orton effect?

I really like it. B&W was the right choice. (One not used enough anymore)

Thumbs up Very cool...

Awesomely dramatic and very spooky! Beautiful black and white. It is a really neat image to look at. Nice work.
