Default Waiting by the window

I seem to be having issues with whites getting blown out.
What's a poor rookie to do? My model always wears this coat.

Just Jim, Welcome

Your model knows how to "work it," and the photographer knows composition (if it's luck, don't tell). Try 3 more shots, pointing first at darkest fur, meter, shoot. Then medium fur under eye, meter, shoot. Lastly, part of jaw now blown, meter, shoot. One of those will be what you're looking for, an evenly exposed coat. Assuming you shoot in automatic, record the settings for your favorite. Practice is key.

Default another rookie...

Just Jim:

I really like the expression in the eyes and the use of positive and negative space. The position of the dog works really well. It's a really sweet picture.
I like it. - Miche'
