Miche',

Best of the three. Cropping, you said, was something you considered? Background is distracting. Photo is wonderful.

I like the picture of Georgie, and the way the path draws your eyes to him. I like the blown out fence as a background. The other people and the lines in the roof are distracting, but they can be cropped out. Nice job.

Default JiminyClicket and Just Jim

Dear JiminyClicket and Just Jim;

Thank you for your advice and kind words about my photo. I am very proud of it. Though I must say, looking at the photograph is driving me nuts,since that distracting background has been brought to my attention. So I am looking forward to cropping it. If either of you (or anyone) want to give it a shot please feel free to edit the image.

Thanks again! Miche'

Sure, cropping is the easy part. Here's one whack at it. I didn't want to leave half a bench, so this might be more aggressive than you were looking for.

I also removed the thing above his head. I know I didn't do it well, but you get the idea.

Yeah, the more you learn about photography, the easier it is to find flaws in your pictures. But you can't avoid the problems unless you know about them, right? For example, I now hate nearly every picture I take, but it's been almost three years since I've taken a picture that looks like a mailbox is coming out of someone's head. There's hope for us rookies yet.
