I posted a new image here. Now I know I'm going to get a lot of flack for using too much photoshop ...but I think I like that it looks painted. the original image was very very dark almost useless. This is what I came up with afterward (laughing) I hope you do not think it is equally as useless. However, someone always comes around and says something that opens my eyes to something new and I look forward to that. So let it rip!

Saralonde,
This is more along the lines of what I like to do with images. I can't help the converging "paints" with photography, since abstract painting is my first love. However, I know I'll have to learn that some images are strong enough left on their own. I find it interesting too. Thank you, what a pleasant surprise.

Sometimes it helps to add a little of of grain or noise to an image that's been overprocessed - it just ties it all together again and it will reproduce better if you intend to print it photographically. But be careful of those filters - they tend to give themselves away - subtlety can be very arresting.

Miche',
Now the caption/title makes sense! I thought it was a reference to your painterly edit of the first photo. This is more direct, doesn't pretend to be something else, and is done well. You're right: knowing which ones to do what to, is part of the learning.
