I was wondering what to photograph this morning and thought that I would try something different.

Please be critical.

The Mighty2006,

The most interesting (?) part of the cup, the handle, is in the back. So I'm looking at a graphic designer's artwork, asking why is this guy running out of subjects? Have you done any reading on the blog about what people find interesting? Testing a camera is fine if you point it at something in a new way, or at something not seen before. Lay on your floor and look up. Stand on a chair, look down. Go outside NOT looking for a shot. Listen for one. Sniff the air, shoot the source of a fragrance.

Critique this photo of a bland cup? You can do better than this. If you closed your eyes, spun around 3 times and shot, you could do better. At some point ask yourself again, why do people take photos?

Surprise us, tell a story, present the everyday object in a new perspective (maybe the original intent of this one?), use color, lighting, background. And after a hundred experiments, pick one you critique as a standout.

Critical? The logo is strong, the typeface suits the logo, and the cup appears to be clean.
