Default Ghost in the snow

For this image I wanted a dark figure that was blury which would give the appearance of a ghost. I wanted a look like it was taken a long time ago and was agged with noise and scratches.

Improvments

I should have shot this in an area with more white snow. The dark at the bottom I don't really care for but it works. Overall I am happy with the image but, I really have yet to capture that scary ghost moment, I think the problem is location unfortunatly it's so darn cold here in michigan I hate shooting when it's that cold outside it's so freezing I only take a few shots and call it quits.

I'm going to be a little bit harsh - I think this should be retitled "dark, indeterminate blur in the snow". It doesn't look like a ghost or even a figure to me!

To be fair, I suppose it does remind me of some of the "photographic proof" of ghosts that I have seen but I think you could do with more work on the concept.

Since you are working with a digital camera, you can easily do things like take a clearer shot of a person walking, then overlay that on a shot of an area so that they become slightly translucent, then age the whole lot. Also, think about questions like where is the photographer hiding? Why is the ghost in that particular location?

murtasma,

It's 4 degrees in Fulton, NY, so boo-hoo I say! Wind-chill? Bah!

This is an experiment, and can be attempted again and again. That's probably what's needed here. A creative idea, not yet realised. Worth pursuing.

Thanks for the feedback Wulf, I see what your saying with the location of the photographer and the location of the ghost. That's something I have to work on. Usually when I do these types of shots I just placed the subject in the middle becuase I am just playing around. I have taken other shots were you can clearly see a person / figure that is transparent but, it's so cold outside now you can obviously tell its just a long exposer image becuase you can see my coat, my hat, gloves ect and it doesn't give the impression of a worldly spirit to me at least when it's wearing nikes and a camera bag. LOL

I do agree the image is a little to blured. Perhaps I need to wear something besides street clothes to get the shot I am looking for.
