Default Crocus

I got a polariser for my lenses today and have been playing around with it.

I quite like this shot, but I thought I'd ask for some critique and feedback as I'm sure there's some things I could do to improve this.
There's a large version of the image over at Flickr.

I like this shot, too, but it seems a little dark (might be my monitor). Nice rule of thirds composition, sharpness and flower color.

I like the shot, and although the background is dark I find that the purple flower really pops out (so that might be the difference in monitors thing). Personally, I'd actually crop it a little bit to get more focus on that really lovely flower. Just my 2 cents though.

i really like it! i think it would look even more "poppy" out with an HDR image. might be worth investigating

I did take a series of different exposures of this shot, so maybe I'll give that a try.
I'll try the cropping thing too and see what I can get out of it.

Thanks for the critiques so far

I'm thinkin' it should be cropped. It should have about 1/4 of the left side taken out. I hope you don't mind, but I went ahead & did it to give you some kind of perspective of what I was talking about.
