Default Is this appealing?

Blue

I'm a total newbie and have only been playing with my el cheapo camera for about six months. This was a close up shot of a yellow and red specks flower. I just inverted the colours and got this. Just wondered if it appeals to people and maybe get some hints.

its nice. it reminds me of a background i would put on a desktop. i have a friend who shoots everything with inverted color. its hard to find a subject were it doesnt look too cheesy

good capture. i would invest in a macro lens if this is the kind of subject you are interested in..

Hoobla!

I am partial to blue... just love it - so for me the color is so nice... there is nice variation - I think this would be my preference over the red/yellow version.

The only thing I can think of as an improvement is I might like to see a tad more contrast...

it looks like some kind of alien corridor. funky!

I might desaturate it a touch, but that's me. I find the bright blue almost overwhelming.

still a neat shot.

It would work well as a desktop wallpaper, where low contrast is often a good attribute (less distraction from the other information provided). As a photo, it would perhaps be improved with more contrast (fairly straightforward to add), more sharpness (harder) and a definite point of focus (very difficult to work back - it is easier to destroy focus than add it).

When taking macro pictures, having something in clear, sharp focus is almost always a plus.

It is kind of an interesting effect - I think the shot would work better if there were a border or something to add contrast? Nice background though - would probably look good as a website background....
