sarahfstowe, Welcome

What a rich, earthy, colorful shot! Usually I would think you need a strong subject in such a scene; here you have a line from FG tree, wave foam on beach, dark stone against reddish hill, trail/road up hillside, and the dip in hill. Kind of Nature-is-the-subject. Really pleasant to look at.

Going back to look closer at that sunset.

Beautiful shot. Excellent colours, textures, composition. Very well spotted. I love that all the colours are so deep and rich, very pleasing to look at.

Your sunset shots are quite nice but a little dark. I personally prefer sunset shots when the sun is still lighting the entire sky, but yours are neat too... the only thing I might suggest is that you crop the right side a little - I find it quite dark and it seems to pull my attention away from the rest of the shot.

Very nicely done. I look forward to seeing more of your work!

Love the richness of the colours (the deep blue and the green)

I too love the colours, the richness of the water v's the foam, and the play of the sunlight.

My preference for cropping would be some of the lightness off the left, as I love the darkness of the right but keep being pulled to the lightness of the rocks/dirt on the left.

All this goes to prove you've got no chance of pleasing everyone

sarahfstowe,

Sunset: glorious colors, maybe crop dark area, maybe fewer boats. Or not.

Yes i am living in the Caribbean for 2-3 years on a small island in the Grenadines, most days it is very sunny so it does help with taking some nice pictures.
I have added a few more for you to look at.
