Default Girl in the subway

ellen

My friends and I were hanging out in NYC one day and I was just randomly taking photos. When I was looking at the pics at the end of the day, this photo really stuck out because of the intial composition and stillness compared to the subject's surroundings.

I did _a lot_ of post editing on the photo, adding extra motion blur to the surroundings, trying to get her in more focus, cropping it , and adjusting the colors.

What do you think?

yurik,

Dreamy, really catches one's attention . . . and the photo's well-done, too. Wouldn't have guessed post-work had been added.

I think the result is very good. In particular, I think it is helped by having a moving subway train in the background as well as the people; I don't know if it would work so well without that element.

Excellent work! Looks fantastic. I like the fact that the rest of the crowd has been desaturated a little, really pulls your eyes to her. The only thing standing out to me (and it only jumps to me because I've done a lot of b&w with colour work) is the bright red spot behind her head that belongs to the guys sweater, as well as two tiny spots of blue jean that belong to a passerby.

Those are the only things I can think to point out. The shot is a great one and your treatment of it add a wonderful feel... if you could just touch up those two little spots it'll be a truly wonderful shot.
