Default Gabby

Ok, my first photo post (hope it shows up). I have been playing around with in-camera B&W. I took this of my cat, Gabby, inside which required flash. I applied an in-camera green filter. No post-processing yet except for a slight crop. I'm new to all this so I need to know everything wrong/right with this photo. TIA

I had a cat that looked very similar to this one once. Very pretty kitty.
I think you did quite well with the b&w and it's eyes are nicely in focus with a nice OOF background. Good job.

I like the picture a lot... its all personal preference but I found it more useful to do the B/W conversion in post processing so I could a) have a color copy and B) have more control over the levels and contrast in the photograph. I think you had great success with the in camera b/w processing and it really has no influence on the image, but in the future you might wanna keep that in mind. Also I think it would jump out a bit more if you got even more contrast between the cat and and the background. Great shot, I like the composition of the subject and the focus being on the eyes

I think it's a great photo. Like everyone said, great focus.
The only thing I could add is that it would be great if you could get that second ear in the frame :x

And if you're interested in learning, keep taking photos of your cute cat! Try different angles and compositions

Saralonde - Thank you for your kind comments.

Nieton21 - In my digital scrapbooking I have converted many color photos to B&W and I agree this is most likely the best approach. However, I'm a curious person and just had to try the in-camera B&W thing. Thank you - so glad you liked it.

Yurik - Thank you. Yes, I was a bit miffed at the fact I cut off the tip of his left ear. I would have retaken the photo but Gabby had grown annoyed with me and "left the scene".

Thanks to all.
