I'm new here, just learning the ropes, I'm not new to photography, but I am new to actually trying to learn about it. I've begun a Flickr account,a few photos from where I live, feel free to take a look, feel free to comment, I learn fast.

Justkatla, welcome to dPS forum! This is a great place to learn. You might like to post individual shots in various threads assignments such as b&w or water. If you want a critique on a particular shot, start a thread in "Critique my Shot" and put 1 picture in it with some specific questions as well as some info (aperture and shutter settings, time of day, etc.) about your picture. It's a lot easier to help with 1 shot at a time then it is a whole group.
If your not sure how to do this, check out the FAQ. It's very easy to do from flickr.I'll just use your "Kuimdis-flats" shot as a start. Remember, this is just my opinion . Love the reflection of the sky and the curve of the lake. Nice blues. You might want to change your horizon line. Generally a horizon going straight through the middle of a picture is not a good idea. Try dividing the picture into thirds (Rule of thirds: http://digital-photography-school.co...ule-of-thirds/ and http://digital-photography-school.co...ule-of-thirds/) and moving your horizon line up or down. This results in a more pleasing shot.Welcome again and post some more! |
