Nice shots...skin tone's a bit bluish...

maybe you could have preset your white balance prior to shooting...i am assuming you shot under ambient light...most probably flourescent? and your white balance setting set to auto?

Default Must Learn Photoshop

Floris,
I can't believe the difference that makes! I will have to get onto learning photoshop asap. For anyone who is interested these were actually taken on my front verandah late in the afternoon and he was laying on a dark brown sheepskin, the camera was set on portrait/macro.
Thanks for your comments.

I'm curious as to what caused the bluish tone?

Things I did:
Very striking.

The skin where the date stamp was removed is a bit over-bright, though -- it kind of jumps out as manipulated. I realize you probably didn't put hours into this proof-of-concept, though.

I'm not sure, my best guess is thatit was something to do with the flash and I probably needed to manually set my white light balance? Usually I just leave it on auto when I'm working with him because I tend to work more on the composition of the photo and he's not very patient! lol. If anyone else has any thoughts let me know.

I just wish that my daughter would stay still enough to do a similar picture. Beautiful photo.
