If you shot this in RAW you should be able to get lots of detail out of the shadow areas (clouds) to then give it some treatment with the curves tool in photoshop. However, the biggest thing we have to remember is that "art" is subjective - if it means something to you the way it is, then it's perfect! Some of my most personally favorite shots are the least viewed and commented on, on my DA site. Where as the ones I used as "filler" content receive loads of "faves"

msafiedin,
twistedwinter makes a point; the most we can do in Critique is figure the obvious plus and minus features of a photo, praise the pluses, try to suggest methods to improve the minuses, and encourage further work in those areas. But if you like your photo, don't be discouraged by all the other stuff. It's meant to help get the most out of your next shot. And yes the clouds could be richer in detail, and the reflected sun image above the sun itself distracts a bit. Did you crop the top? Hope not . . .

well i am not sure why we still need to use RAW
i mean i read many tutorials i tried and when i get to PS for the RAW editing i dont get much things to play should i suggest we have some RAW tutorial basics editing then about the picture, there is not much detail because the shot is looking directly at the sun, therefore the light has erased the details of the cloud not sure how you guys can adjust to get the detail on the cloud thanks for the help |
