Smile The Sun Don't Shine Forever

DSC_0029_1

I took it today@ 1/1000secs f5.6 at ISO 200
The problem is personally this shot meant something for me. I was trying to make it more eye catcher. Like when people see it they will go 'wow'. But after playing with colors and highlights etc, this is as far as i can go with it. I hope everyone here like it. If not please give your positive C&C.

Thanks people.

If you shot this in RAW you should be able to get lots of detail out of the shadow areas (clouds) to then give it some treatment with the curves tool in photoshop. However, the biggest thing we have to remember is that "art" is subjective - if it means something to you the way it is, then it's perfect! Some of my most personally favorite shots are the least viewed and commented on, on my DA site. Where as the ones I used as "filler" content receive loads of "faves"

msafiedin,

twistedwinter makes a point; the most we can do in Critique is figure the obvious plus and minus features of a photo, praise the pluses, try to suggest methods to improve the minuses, and encourage further work in those areas. But if you like your photo, don't be discouraged by all the other stuff. It's meant to help get the most out of your next shot.

And yes the clouds could be richer in detail, and the reflected sun image above the sun itself distracts a bit. Did you crop the top? Hope not . . .

It is an interesting shot -if you look to the right and glance at it out the corner of your eye it looks like an eye.

More detail would have definitely improved it.

well i am not sure why we still need to use RAW
i mean i read many tutorials
i tried and when i get to PS for the RAW editing
i dont get much things to play

should i suggest we have some RAW tutorial basics editing then

about the picture, there is not much detail because the shot is looking directly
at the sun, therefore the light has erased the details of the cloud
not sure how you guys can adjust to get the detail on the cloud

thanks for the help
