i like the content of this photo but I wish it was a little let blown out in the background, its a bit hard on the eyes because of it, what were you trying to do with this photo? A little background info would be helpful. ;-)

The background looks so interesting that it feels like the palm is distracting from it. I think it would have been a perfect composition if the palm was located in the bottom right.

Thanks for the advice. My intention was to get a good BW print and good composition. I have just started shooting photos where I have control over the settings. Always used film cameras in the past. Used Powershot A430 and now use Canon S3 IS.
