just doent seem to work for me, not sure what you had going to the left, because the tree trunk behind adds the opposite angle and you could have had tha palm filling the RH third of the photo.

This where the shallow depth of field could have worked by isolating the main subject from its background. A little tweaking on exposure may also work as it looks a tad over exposed.

ram1945, try taking a tighter shot of it, and also try shooting it in a different angle
Try to bracket your shots, this one looks overexposed.

Hi, I'm going to have to agree with all the comments made so far. The composition of this should could have been tighter - pulling our focus in on the palm. And it certainly needs a shorter exposure time. If your camera has the ability, set it to exposure bracket (particularly if you're not comfortable with exposure times).
