Default Gran Via

Hello all,

A friend told me I should have lens-distortion corrected this image, at the time of processing it looked fine to me but having heard this, I can see where he is coming from, I would appreciate some feedback on this.. Do any of you correct perspective?

hitkaiser,

Yes, as a favor to the viewer.

Most of the times, I do. Just to create a more natural effect.

In answer to your question, I would. I find the buildings in your shot all have a distinct lean to them and by correcting that you'd improve upon an already good shot.

It depends on the effect you are going for - there is something to be said for the claustrophobic effect of all the buildings leaning in which captures the spirit of a city street well.

Also, of course, how easily you can do the required corrections!

Live life on the edge, take 1-2 steps to your right and stand on the road ,shoot more straight down the road with the tall building at the end as a focus point and the lamp post as the left framing line. The distortion will also be less.
