Default baby picture II....

assignment portrait

i love the comments that you guys made for my first posting and i am learning from it...here's another picture of the same baby (i love to take shots of babies because they are a real camera charmer)....


i still dont have my tripod yet (im just starting to collect my things but im seriuos with learning as much as i could)...i am a student and i am just saving some from my allowance to buy my stuff...

anyway...tell me what you think of this photo...

Nice capture & framing. The expression on the baby's face is simply refreshing.
The only thing that bothers me is the background, kinda distracting. Nothing of course that can not be fixed at post processing but still best considered when making the shot.

Adorable baby! I agree about the background, maybe a shallower DOF next time. Also, I like the catchlight, but what caused the circles in her eyes? Must have something to do with the lighting .

I agree with all comments made so far. A much clearer shot than your original post (well done!) but it could use a more blurred background (shallower DOF [depth of focus]). And if you have editing software, would it be possible to remove the circles in her eyes? I find them distracting!

Otherwise a very lovely shot! Much improved!! Keep shooting, they'll only get better!

i used a flash in this photo but i set it to -1 so it wont hurt her eyes. why? is it too dim?

Not dim; actually it is the cheek highlight that is so much brighter, and the eyes seem to have a strobelight round image in them. Actually I was thinking 1960's camera with built-in flash. No matter - it's a charming photo.
