Default snow

they're predicting temps to reach the 50's this weekend (it was 44 today!) so the snow will soon be gone. i took advantage of a 20* day yesterday and went out shooting at a nearby seminary. i accidentally left my camera in ISO 800 from a few days prior, but i kind of liked the grain it produced. C&C are always welcome.

cheers!

Snow scenes usually translate well into b7W, don't they? I might crop off some sky in #1. Nice perspective on "tree."

Very nice collection. I agree that snow and b&w go hand in hand. My preference is for #1 (salt road) and #3 (fuel). In #1 I like the line to road creates down the center of the shot as well as the natural brightness from sun, the only thing I might do is crop down a little of the sky since there's nothing really going on up there.

#3 I really like the contrast between the dark logs and the bright snow. Excellent focus and compositon, though I might like to see the main log (trunk) a little more exposed (it's a little too dark to see the textures properly)... other than that, excellent!

As for #2,4 - In #2 I would just like to see more contrast, I find it a little washed out/plain. Composition is good but I find it very dull and gray. And #4 I just have never been a huge fan of that style of shot (I've tried to captured a few myself and I never seem to like them, but that's just my own personal taste) and so I can't really say much about it... sorry.

Very nicely captured though. I am a Canadian living in Texas and so miss the snow terribly (only really got into photography after the move and am dying to be able to take snow shots again).
