Here's a shot i took whilst on a recent trip to venice.

I really like the symmetry of the shot, but i would love to hear what you guys think, and if you have any advice or suggestions...

I like this shot. It gives you a feeling of depth, and shows a nice balance.

Thanks!

I think it really captures the scale of the passages around St. Marks

You could have experimented with getting another point of view, I'm thinking of lower. This could have been great to enhance the perspective and emphasize the silhouettes in the background.
Or even simply have your hoziron line not in the middle of the frame.
You may trye to crop the 8th right part to get rid of the people standing in the open.. Or photoshop them out... Or you could have stepped back a little to have them behind the column.
The shot may lack a bit of contrast to really pop.

I like the symetry and the repeating pattern.

Nice photo, Mr.Freedom. The perspective is great and I love arches. You could do so much with this.
My eyes do keep getting dragged off to the lamppost on the right, so you might want to consider cropping the photo to cut it out...or you could make it a feature by including just a section of the right hand side of the photo - but you'd lose that symmetry. Of course, you could make a triptych, displaying different versions or cuts of the same photo. Another possibility would be to take either half and copy, flip horizonatally and stitch it on so you have a perfect symmetry - although whenever I've tried this it looks fake.
I was looking at the people at the far end of the walkway and thought this location would be good for a series of photos in a slideshow where the people seem to jump closer and closer and then become a blur as they move past the camera's field.
I hope you play around with this image and post the result. The photo is worth your effort.
