Does anyone have any comments about how I could make this shot better. Lighting...composition...etc

You have what appears to be a crisp black and white photograph with strong contrasting tones of black, gray and white. I don't see much point in the angle of your shot or crop. Some photos work well with a diagonal presentation; however, it does not, in my view, work here.

The lighting seems to favor Andrew Jackson's face. With both the cathedral and the statue in sharp focus, they tend to compete with one another. A slight change in position to set the statue against the sky with the cathedral out of focus may have been a better option.

I like the B&W, but the shots that are shifted/twisted seem to distract me, unless the shifted/twisted horizon adds to the composition of the overall photo. It is those shots that I do not even notice is shifted/twisted when I first look at the picture.
