Mural

Took the picture with my new Pentax K10D while driving through the Mid-west. First mistake--I didn't hold the camera level. Let me know what you think.

Congratulations on your new K10d! I too have this camera and I have immense appreciation for it. I bought mine on 12.7.07.

If you hadn't said this was a mural, I would have thought you had painted this up in software. My very first reaction is that, as a photo compostion, it leaves me wondering what the context of this mural is...that is where it is in relationship to its place on the earth. That could have been a thought process that preceded the shot...what context is this in?

I would say your K10 works pretty well.

I think that its a nice picture, I would straighten it in post if I were you though.

I agree with the adjusting the level after post --- or looking around the viewfinder when you take the shot. I also wonder about context. This is like taking a picture of a picture. What's the purpose? Only after close examination could I have guessed that it was a painted mural. Back off and include at least a part of the building and the mural has context therefore becoming more interesting.

Looks like the Pentax has great color rendition!
