The links of the chain look like they have been cut. More perspective on the shot would have been better. Something like.. across the diagonals...Nice focus though. Good shot.. can be better

I like the shallow depth of field in this shot. Judging by the tree in the background and the gray sky, it looks to be a cold winter day. It would be interesting to see the same shot with some snow on the chain.

The photo feels a bit underexposed to me. I would open up the shadows on the links to bring more attention to them. I agree that I like the shallow DOF, but also think it does need a wider perspective or context.

something that popped in my head when I saw this picture. How about some post processing to improve the texture of the chain. It looks to me perfect for something like that. Add sharpness, and contrast, you can make it more rustically, like an old rusted iron chain.

It would be a really cool shot if there was:

A: snow on the chains.
B: more detail brought out in the texture of the chains.
