Settings are ISO 100, 1/20", f/29, focal length 55mm. I enjoy looking at the image; perhaps not everyone will see it as I do. Always room for improvement; so I am open to your comments regarding composition or any technical issues.

Yes, I do see pinkish orange...I rather like it; however, I would be open to adjusting it a bit to see if I could like that more.
Is there a rule about how much sky one should keep in a setting like this? If there is a rule, I would like to hear about when it should or should not be broken.

geotography,
Edit places horizon closer to a thirds upper line: close counts. Color looks less like a Polaroid aged in the Sun, more like a sunlit countryside. Generally, your subject will determine where to place horizon. If you had fierce storm clouds or lightning, that's strong, can be subject, horizon goes on lower third line, landscape secondary subject. If your photo has interest in foreground, more interest in middle ground, and some interest in sky, upper third line for horizon will provide balance for which the rule is intended.

I like the sky. We had a sky that colour here a bt ago, and I got a bunch of photos of it over a wheat field, and everyone (on another board) bagged me out for having a falsely-coloured sky. Oh the non-believers....
Anyhow, for me the sky is the focus of this shot, not the land. I'd crop it so that there was 1/3 land, 2/3 sky.

![]() I studied the comments I received and applied them best I could to this third rendition which now, I hope, gives a more balanced distribution of the layers of this scene. I included a reduction in red color tone. This particular photo, as it now stands, closely represents what I saw....except that the sky was bigger.

geotography,
Only time I saw a sky that was big enough, was projected in a planetarium. I guess the image in your viewfinder and what you saw as you made your way around here would be impossible to do justice to, especially in this format. But it reminds me of skies I've seen, and it looks more real now, even though skies do take on remarkable colors sometimes. That thirds adjustment really stands out now, it lends equality to each part of the scene. If that's what you wanted, it works well.
