It is a cool shot steevdavis62. I like the cloud formations and the colour of the sky is beautiful.

I would do a crop either along the bottom of the dam or the top of the dam just to take out distractions from the bottom of the image.

Well done

Well thanks, i have been experimenting with the cropping. But if i cut all the distractions out, i usually cut out the little piece of lake and just having the wall. Kind of has no relevance, just a wall out of no where. Kind of like the great wall of china

I like the landscape shot ... for me, personally, my eye follows the slope of the hill downward and then levels out across the top of the dam, over to the trees. The vertical shot doesn't allow my eyes to "land gently ..." Just my thoughts.

First. The second has too many things wrong, unfortunately it has the best of the hillside. Was a tripod used? I've taken similar shots and exposed for different areas and merged images to create a more balanced look. I think this would have faired well here.

No unfortunatly it was just as we where leaving the lake. Had been wakeboarding all day and i was tired and sore. and just shot off a few snaps before i left... I hope i can try and get more exposure into the hill side, using some type of PP. hopefully.... I have never really tried merging images like that though, is it dificult?
