Default Grandbaby, and Grandmother

Taises baby N Bill Birta N his Mother W watermark

A photo i shot, then later post processed ( selective blur, b/w conversion, combining multiple exposures to simulate a blown out highlight effect, soft vignette )in Photoshop CS3. I was at my companies outing, to see the Detroit Tigers play at Comerica Park, when a coworkers mother, held up her grandchild. I actually envisioned this shot in my head, at that very moment. I purposely left the gentleman in the background in focus because, he is one of my supervisors, and i just wanted to show off, i guess.I really don't feel he's a distraction in this image, because of his location, IMHO of course. The coworker, and her Mother loved the image, and asked me for a copy.

Very nice BW conversion. My only issue is the contrast on items around the baby's face don't balance the contrast on the baby's face. The baby's face should stick in my brain but it's the scarf and the hat.

Nice photo and nice effect. One thing I dont like though is the guy in the background with the sunnies on, that guy is distracting and alters the mood of the photo for me, just my thoughts though.

Default A big thank you to all

I like to think i'm on the right track in all of this because, when i first set out to get involved in photography, i just wanted to make people feel, feel something, weather it be positive, or negative, through imagery, my imagery.Thats it, i'm in this for the pure love of it. I can see that it's starting to work, because of you guys comments, you critque based on what you see, and how it makes you feel( case, and point, my dog shadow ). Well i just love it, i eat it all up, both the good and the bad. I am a realist, i run to my issues, instead of away, because i know the bad can fester, like cancer, so i choose to deal with the real, whatever that may be. I would like to eventually turn this hobby into a profession. So i consider this, paying my dues, making all the mistakes, and more importantly, learning from those mistakes, so when they appear again, i can immediately recognize them, and offer a solution. Because this allows me the freedom to be as creative as i can possibly be. Take chances, break rules, all in the name of my heart. Ultimately, i just want to make folk feel. I really do hope i'm not sounding arrogant. For so long, i've been afraid to go public with my photography( self doubt ). Now i'm just excited, excited that my vision is slowly coming into view.
