I took this photo mid last year and entered it in the open photo competition during the Auckland Photographic Festival June 2007. Although it did'nt make the final cut it was fun to have a go just the same. The scene is the main atrium escalator inside a major cinema complex in downtown Auckland. The very modern complex was built over and around existing heritage listed buildings and I've always liked the way the two very different architectural elements blend together.
![]() I am keen to explore architectural photography further and would appreciate feedback to help me improve my technique.

Ewie,
Very difficult to do, but if there were a way to get higher up when shooting, the architecture would be equaled in perspective (especially looking at "old" in center), giving a less off-balanced feel.
