Default My Maiden Pond

My Maiden Pond

I finally got the nerve to start doing it in public> so while walking with a date, I whipped it out and set it to landscape/ 200 iso about 4:30 pm , and I shot this with my Fujifilm FinePix A700.
PLEASE fix it, and play with it, and/or tell me why I'm on the road to you guys' good stuff, or falling into bad habits. This is my first post and I'd love to see and hear everything. Thanx~James~

Mr. Intensity,

It's better for you to find ways and means to fix your own work, unless you want to go to Post Processing and ask there. Your title at least is honest in naming the photo's subject: water. Ocean surf on rocks, interesting. Lakeshore with reflected forest, interesting. This is not that. Added to the lifeless clouds, what we have is some leaves for color, and barren trees to supply a texture/design element. Edge of lake splits composition halfway. Search for articles on Rule of Thirds. Also go to Composition here.

A closer zoom of left side might have yielded something. Winter means looking harder for good subjects. Knowing what to look for will help.

Mr.Intensity,

[You've helped legitimize that 'public' look I want to accomplish of; "Genius At work Here People, Move along"-lol]

Does this somehow apply to photography?

The phot is great but...

"I finally got the nerve to start doing it in public> so while walking with a date, I whipped it out "

You do know that's illegal pretty much everywhere?
