Default Household Object

took this for my schools photography club. topic was a macro shot of a household object. this was handheld so just understand that its not that sharp.

Settings:
Shutter Speed - 1 Second
ISO - 80

Hi Matt,
A couple things I like about this shot:
--clean, uncluttered.
--feeling of depth created by focus and perspective
--the blue light on the right( I especially like the blue highlight on the front of the tape dispenser), the orange-ish light on the left.

If you have a tripod, lock down your camera for these longer exposure shots, and see if you like the results. Shoot lots and lots of pictures....

Nice choice! I like the line of the tape and the curves of the dispenser. Nice color as well. *keeps the tape dispenser in mind if my photography prof asks for an exposure of a household object!*

Sometimes, if you don't have a tripod, you can try using other household items - I've used an empty cardboard box, a full roll of toilet paper, a few books stacked one on top of the other, my dresser, window sill, counter ... it's endless

Of course, the trick is getting the angles

And I do like this shot
