I read an article this morning on converging lines, which also included a link introducing me to this site. This is the first (of 2) initial photos where I'm curious about how the converging lines impact the photo, and how the photo composition measures up in general.

Critique as you please.

See the thread "Get Down and Dirty" in Assignments and imagine this shot taken from 6 inches off the ground. It would fill the sky and - talk about converging lines. A bump in contrast and maybe the whole shot gets more life. A subject would help, too: a basket, something besides dirt.

I definitely agree that you need to get down and dirty.. get in low, that way the sky (which has nothing appealing in it) is only on the top 1/3 of the shot.

As for a nice subject, you could try to focus on one of those blue thingies, that way the converging lines don't go towards the center but instead go towards the left 1/3 of the shot.
