Default Morning Shadow

Hi, I am new to this. Please be gentle.
I took this a few weeks ago and change it to B&W. Thanks

Hi maz2001,

I like your eye for this image. You saw interest in the diagonal lines and the shadow. If this is your porch, you could try this with minor adjustments in angle. Perhaps get a lower firing position and eliminate the ropes.

Good eye!

Default good call on the b&w

Hi Maz....

I'm thinking you created a better image by converting to b&w. Geo's comment about the interesting angles is true for me, too, and colors in this image would be distracting. Nice job!

I'm slowly learning how to use Photoshop Elements, and I know that my b&w images can look a lot better when I adjust contrast and levels in various ways. I'd like to see your picture with more contrast. Just a thought.

Best wishes,
Dave

Neat shadow - nice and shapely against the lines of the deck. I agree with the previous posts; nice choice to convert this particular photo to B+W, and maybe try framing without the ropes.

Thanks for sharing!

maz2001, Welcome

Shadows can be fascinating subjects, but they only serve to lead to a more interesting solid object. Both usually work better if you show all of them. But exceptions are many. Check these out:

Thank you all. I will work on the elimination of the ropes. Also, I noticed I will need a different angle to get the whole shadow in the picture.

I am checking out the the site mentioned. Any help is always appreciated.

maz2001,

"I noticed I will need a different angle to get the whole shadow in the picture."

Or get lower to the ground? Makes shadow shorter.
