A Dried Rose

Just messing around with the macro setting on my camera right before lunch today and got this shot. Thought I'd share. Whatcha think?

I like your photo layout and DOF. May be my monitor; but its a smidgen soft in the center of the rose.

P.S. I like your "On the Fence" photo too.

geotography - Thanks! I liked the fence one as well but submitted "Winter's Slow" for the DOF assignment. Wish I had taken the rose photo first I'd have used that one instead!

You can still submit the pic you want for the dof assignment. Go in and either delete your post with the pic you don't want, or change it so that it doesn't have required Assignment title, and then post your rose pic. The dof assignment just started so you have lots of time.

I'm guessing your dog is a real dog? The bulldog in my "name" is actually a high school mascott. I started posting to DPS to ask about taking pics at basketball and volleyball games but have had so much fun that I've decided to hang around for a while.

My real dog is a spoiled black lab, the 3rd child. (see the alphabet game "X is for X-tra special puppy". She's a little bigger now.

Really like the pic, very nice DOF, the final edit came out well. Could be my monitor, but would like to see a little more contrast on the rose, and some less highlights.
