Default Product Placement

F Stop - F8
Exposure - 1/6 sec.
ISO - 1600
Focul Length - 55mm

First attempts with my new SLR. Always had point and shoot and I was just curious what everyone's thoughts would be.

3 Things I see immediately.

Firstly, you've clearly tried to obey the Rule of Thirds here to get a dynamic composition, but what you have actually done is created a symmetrical composition. Almost exactly half of the shot is the bottle, and the other half is background. Unfortunately, the background doesn't really add anything to the shot for me, so maybe try to compose it getting a majority of the bottle into it, whether it is placed to the side or not.

Secondly, I'm a bit curious as to why you shot this at ISO 1600. Your image is a rare exception, because I think the noise is actually giving this image a nice texture. Has a sort of cinematic feeling.

Lastly, be cautious when photographing something with text in it. By your title, I think you meant to get in the clever catchphrase, but for many people, me included, we start to read the rest of the text and it draws us away from the actual image.

Default Thanks for the comments

Thanks for the input being a member of this website is deffinitely part of my learning experience and I look forward to growing as a photographer here. Perhaps I will try to recreate the shot with a different object without text and pick my background a little better. As for the ISO I agree it probably could have been lower. Thanks again.
