Hey,
So I've been out this morning to Lichfield Catherdral (East Midlands in the UK) And picked up this shot. Im quite happy with the composition, tho not sure if i need to crop the sky out in the far left. C&C please ![]() Exif data: Camera Maker: Canon Camera Model: Canon EOS 300D F-Stop: f/5.6 Exposure: 1/40 sec. ISO Speed: ISO-100 Focal Length - 51mm Apature - 5.9

Without reading and just looking I thought get rid of the sky and crop to a tighter portrait on the statue of the man. I would say you can almost crop half of it off the left side.
The right side of the shot has alot of interest and good focus and the left has alot going on in itself that sort of competes in my opinion. The only thing I would hate to lose is the patina looking green on some of the left hand side. i think that its an interesting element in the photo.

Good morning thebear,
Truly an ornate building that you have shot. Good for you getting to visit this place. I am struggling with the composition. First, because the take is an excerpt of the entire cathedral, I seem to be left feeling too curious about the how this part that you show fits into the whole of the building. Secondly, if, in fact, the statute (which I presume is a part of the cathedral rather than a stand alone) is the subject of this photo, then I see everything to the left being too busy and distracting...for my own eyes. Hope this helps you.

Thanks for the comments guys. Yeah i was a little worried that might be considerd "too" busy. I generally feel your right, which is a shame as i think the sharpness and colour tone make this a nice picture (in my eyes) to look at.
Luckily i took another picture from a different angle focusing mainly on the statue. ![]() Any Better?
