Default beach footsteps

Taken with a crappy point&shoot. Is it any good? Any comments/suggestions? Thanks!

Hi embrodak,

Lucky you got to go to the shore and have a bit of sunshine.

One aspect of your photo that I find somewhat interesting is the stratification of water, saturated sand, less saturated sand and dry sand. For fun, have you turned the photo horizontally (with water on the bottom) to see what it does for you? I am not suggesting that is a remedy to make this composition better but it's always good to try that. If you stick with a shot like this that does not offer a horizon, then I am thinking you could have staged big, exaggerated footsteps from the water diagonally across the vertically displayed strata that I mentioned above.

I have seen some amazing photographs taken with crappy point&shoot cameras.

It was my first time on the beach, so I was really excited as well!! Do you mean footsteps cutting across the strata? I will definitely try that next time. This wasn't actually a staged shot, but I will definitely stage something next time.

It really didn't do anything for me rotated 90 deg, but next time I will make sure to keep a bit of horizon in the image.

Thanks!
