Smile some tilt

I've been trying to tilt my pictures (like the one of the rail a few posts before).
Is it too much ? Maybe not for this kind of picture ? another cropping ?

I think deliberate tilting tends to be better when it seems to serve a purpose, such as highlighting action in a photo.

For example, there was a shot posted here some time ago which (as I recall) showed a cyclist taking a corner on a mountain race. The background was strongly tilted, placing the cyclist upright and emphasising the sense of speeding round the curve.

The tilting of this picture gives a sense of awkwardness, strangeness, or of something surnatural.
In a way it fits with the silhouetted trees, that echoes a dangerous atmosphere, something monstruous.

If there was something weird, or someone somehow frightening on the foreground, that would do great!

Thank you Wulf and oliver !
As oliver said the titling was here to enhance the "strangeness" of this scene...
I know i tend to forget to "make" the picture (i just see something interesting and take it, without trying to "act" on the scene), i'll have to work on that for the next photos !
Thank you !

blizarre,

"I've been trying to tilt my pictures..."

You have successfully completed the tilting. The effect does not help to show detail in the tree areas. It does not bring color back to a monotone scene. It does not un-center the composition. It doesn't make the focus any sharper.

How can we help you take a better photograph?
