I like the starlike light and it seems the composition is good, but it's hard for me to tell because the picture is so dark. Can you lighten it up in post processing?

I rather like it, reminds me of an old movie, the single building lit up and being a bit of the focus. Unfortunately the spiffy starburst off one of the lights makes ones eyes dart back and forth for focus.
I like the composition tho, doesn't feel like there is too much negative space, tho some minor cropping at the top, bottom, and left side wouldn't really hurt the image.

I too like the composition, though I wonder if cropping out a bit of the left and bottom - placing the star in the bottom third and lit building in the top third - might enhance it a little. I also find it a little dark. Over exposing would cause you to wash out the snowflake but at the same time I find the top of the tall building lost in the dark sky. Maybe if it were colour and not b&w - or maybe if you increase the contrast... I dunno, hard to say... but it is a lovely shot as is, those are just some of the things I might play with to see what the results were.

I love the city in the winter!
If you want my critique, I would say lighten it up (as said above) and is it just me or does the shot look a bit crooked? I think it could use some rotating

Eric,

If in doubt about level horizon (yurik's post) try a vertical alignment using building edges. Truck in foreground tilts also. This shot is a great test for HDR post-processing experiment, giving more definition to cityscape without losing snowflake. It can be done.
