Hide & Seek

My friend and her 2-year-old daughter were playing hide & seek at the park, and I took the opportunity to whip out my P&S camera and take some shots.

This was before I really got into the technical aspects photography (such as lighting, aperture, shutter speed, etc etc. - about a month before I had my dSLR).

No PP done - straight from the camera to here.

Thoughts?

I'm no pro far far from it but i adore this picture . The look on the little girls face is priceless . I had to smile to my self .

Crop or clone out the date for a start Otherwise, it's a cute picture. And well exposed and everything too.

lol thanks! Yeah in the PP I cropped out the date (which worked nicely because the girl was more centered with the crop).

I'm not sure if you're a photoshopper, but you may want to soften some of the leaves that cover her face, to make her eyes pop a little more. Other than that, great capture! and she's a cutie-patootie!

I'm a photoshopper-in-training. lol. I do very basic photoshop stuff (cloning, heal brush, watermarking, layers, etc.) - what do you mean by 'softening' the leaves... like blurring them?

yep, just the edges, to fake a smaller depth of field

I'll try that! Should I use the "blur" tool, or make the leaves a separate layer and use a filter?
