Very nice composition!
I like the use of HDR and the subtle tonemapping. Maybe still the foreground is a bit too dark, but it's maybe just my display.

A Nikon D70s, a few lenses, add flashguns to your taste. Stir well. Serve warm.

crazzy88ss,

Tree carries the viewer out of frame, leaning right as it does, that close to the edge of photo. Otherwise could be a good shot, even though Mt. Diablo is a sliver of bluish grey. Panning right would have given a view of what?

i agree, had the tree been put on the left side, it would be better. it's a bit awkward to be pointing to the right, towards the edge of the photo. i like the proportion of the foreground and background, though.

That's the view to the right taken about 25 minutes before.

crazzy88ss,

If you wanted to go for the tree, and leave Mt. Diablo for another time and photo, here's a crop that plays up the position and lean of it, simpler and warmer.

I perfer the one to the left I would have of course gotten the exposer correct it's a little on the bright side (the image with the tree on the left) I would have also tried to get a little closer and lower to the tree but that's just a personal prefereance. What a beautiful area I wish we had scenery around here like that. I surely would be shooting everyday with places like that around me.

Ideally the tree would look better to the left but it doesn't bother me any. It's a beautiful area and captured in an interesting way. I like that the HDR is suttle.
